FCI Internal Systems Management Group

As the Faculty grows in size, the demands on our internal systems (CRM, accounts, website, events, etc) are also growing. An internal systems management group is being set up to oversee the efficient operation of current systems and to help us to make strategic decisions about future developments.

We are looking for members, fellows or associates to join the group, which will meet virtually on a monthly basis.

NHS Electronic Health Records Usage Survey

The NIHR Imperial Patient Safety Translational Research Centre headed by Professor Ara Darzi, is currently conducting a study exploring the experiences of doctors using electronic health records (EHR) systems in the NHS, and its potential impact on patient safety and healthcare costs.




This study may contribute to future policy solutions to better integrate EHRs into your clinical workplace and the NHS.

Survey to help shape the Digital Clinical Safety

The Digital Safety Team at NHSX is currently developing a Digital Clinical Safety (DCS) strategy in partnership with NHS Digital, NHS England and NHS Improvement, and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency. They are working with Kaleidoscope Health and Care who are leading a short, formal consultation on the DCS strategy. As part of this consultation, you are invited to complete a survey to help shape the DCS strategy.

Health Foundation report on Learning Health Systems

Tom Foley produced a Health Foundation report on Learning Health Systems. It presents a new framework for developing Learning Health Systems at the national, regional and local levels, going beyond data, to include knowledge and its application. It also seeks to bind informatics strategies with those of the broader system as well as being more comprehensible to non-tech leaders, politicians, clinicians and the public.
