There is still time to register for the Faculty’s first Annual Scientific Conference taking place virtually on Thursday 8th October.  There is an excellent and diverse programme, including both national and international speakers, instructional sessions and scientific papers, offering an opportunity to learn about pioneering research and its practical application in health and social care.  The conference covers core areas of interest to all working in health and care informatics and digital health.

Conference content will continue to be available for 3 months after the event, so you can catch up on anything that you missed. This also means that if you already have a commitment on 8th October, you can still attend the whole conference retrospectively if more convenient

Speakers include

  • Prof Suzanne Bakken - Alumni Professor of Nursing & Professor of Biomedical Informatics, Columbia University, New York (International Guest Presentation)

  • Dr Sarah Slight - Reader in Pharmacy, Newcastle University (Prestigious Guest Presentation)

  • Beverley Bryant - Chief Digital Officer (CDIO) Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS FT & Kings College Hospital NHS FT

Not to mention that the conference will also feature the official launch of the UKFCI Core Competency Framework for clinical informaticians with Dr Alan Hassey (Faculty of Clinical Informatics Council & Project Director, Core Competencies Project), Prof Georgina Moulton (Professor of BioHealth Informatics and Education, University of Manchester) and Dr John Williams (Chair of Trustee Board, UK Faculty of Clinical Informatics). This is a hugely important piece of work supported by Health Education England and developed with the University of Manchester.
