The Faculty of Clinical Informatics is now accepting applications for new Members and Fellows, for a limited time only
Deadline 22nd March
Building a network of clinical informaticians across Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland & England through a shared passion for informatics
The Faculty of Clinical Informatics (FCI) is now open for applications for Members and Fellows, our seventh round of recruitment. This follows on from the success of our previous round, which brought total membership to over 780!
FCI is the only professional organisation dedicated to clinical informatics across all health and social care disciplines throughout the four UK nations. For this application period, we are focusing in particular on our membership from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The number of FCI members from these nations has been steadily increasing since the Faculty was established in 2017, however we feel that they are still underrepresented in the Faculty membership. We want to ensure that this number grows further and that the voice and needs of our members from all four UK nations are fully represented.
The Faculty also has a new International Membership category for international clinical informaticians who want to get involved.
“FCI is an excellent platform and good starting point for raising the profile and mainstreaming clinical informatics within NHS and beyond. I was keen to join the Faculty and interact with other like-minded colleagues for achieving its key objectives i.e. to develop professional competencies for clinical informaticians and to provide accreditation for informatics-based training programmes.”
Mahmood Adil, Public Health Scotland
FCI members benefit from a wide range of opportunities, from career development support (through mentoring and support with revalidation and appraisals) to the chance to join Faculty Special Interest Groups (including Clinical Safety, AI and Early Careers) and Professional Interest Groups for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals. Members also gain access to exclusive Faculty events, including 2 annual conferences featuring ground-breaking speakers in the field, and regular online webinars. Members are also kept up to date with the latest ideas and advances in clinical informatics through monthly e-newsletters.
The deadline for applications for Members and Fellows is midnight on 22nd March. Applications for Associate are accepted at all times.
