On 7th May 2020, we held our fourth session in the current series to introduce the topic of data ethics and how this relates to uses (and reuses) of patient data. In particular, the webinar focused on some of the ethical considerations around new and emerging data practices relating to COVID-19.

Following assessment, the Faculty accepted 23 new Fellows, 70 new Members and 45 new Associates, bringing the total membership of the Faculty to over 630.

The Faculty of Clinical Informatics has been working on developing clear advice on COVID-19 clinical coding for General Practice across the four nations. The advice has now been published and is available to view on the Faculty website.

Paul Campbell is Clinical Director for eHealth at NHS National Services Scotland and Honorary Secretary at the FCI. In the current COVID-19 crisis, Paul has been involved in the rapid deployment of Microsoft Teams in NHS Scotland to over 160,000 staff over a couple of weeks.
